Lack of adequate provision of \ninformation and poor consultation with local communities by agribusiness\n and plantation companies has often led to land conflicts and put \ninvestments at risk Sora Enso, a plantation company that has been \noperating in Laos since 2007, has been working on a transition process \nfor its land acquisition and consultation procedure with the aim of \nachieving greater consistency with FPIC standards. With support from \nMRLG, Stora Enso joined with NGO Village Focus International to develop a\n suite of community engagement tools and techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
