The Rights of Local Communities in Forest Protection and Development in Vietnam

This video describes the situation of local communities leaving in mountainous environment in Quan Binh, and their diificulty to access land because most of it was attributed to Forest Companies. Forest reallocation policies have been decided by the provincial authorities of Quang Binh; but these decisions were difficult to implement due to insufficient participation of the concerned populations. The video then describes the process of advocacy developed in 2017 by FORLAND together with various experts and researchers in the preparation of the new Forest Law to increase local communities participation in forest policy and ensure that they can properly manage forest and benefit.
