Customary Forest Tenure is a set of rules that govern and regulate community allocation, use, access, and transfer of natural resources. But what makes this particularly crucial for Indigenous peoples? How can Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) support Customary Tenure recognition?
This animated video, created by NTFP-EP, seeks to respond to these questions in an accessible manner. The content draws on extensive regional dialogues, consultations, and country research involving ASEAN member states representatives from the ASEAN Working Group on Social Forestry, the ASEAN Secretariat, government agencies working in the forestry and land sector, civil society organizations and network, Indigenous peoples, and local communities.
